Led by pianist Marcus Bunton, the Marcus Bunton Trio is a young, vibrant jazz ensemble rooted in the Southeast of England. Its members include Marcus Bunton on piano, Joe Snelling on bass, and Elliot Vickers on drums—among the most promising young talents to emerge from the Brighton and Hove jazz scene.

Marcus first gained broader attention as a finalist on Channel 4’s The Piano. Even as a teenager—often noted to be around 13 years old during early trio performances—his artistry and compositional voice stood out.
Marcus composes and leads the group, crafting original material that blends melodic sophistication with improvisational depth.
The trio was formed through the New Generation Jazz Futures emerging artist programme. Since then, they’ve established a reputation for tight interplay, expressive energy, and fresh jazz compositions—reflecting both youthful exuberance and thoughtful craft.
Their debut album Blue Haze, released in September 2024, features seven original compositions by Marcus Bunton, including standout tracks such as "Blue Haze," "Mango Sunset," and "Puerto de Mazarrón." The album showcases a refined modern trio sound—lyrical piano leads, deep bass lines, and dynamic drumming.
They’ve performed at notable venues and festivals across the Southeast, including the Brighton Jazz Festival (2024) and Love Supreme where they presented music from Blue Haze to enthusiastic audiences. Marcus has appeared at venues like The Brunswick and Jolly Brewer, continuing to garner buzz as a precocious, charismatic performer.
