Sunday 25th August 2019: From 4pm

Expect jazz-funk, neo soul and rare groove as Mad Yella take to the Kino Outdoor stage on Sunday 25th August from 4pm with special guest vocalist Aisling Iris.

This Kent based band are a joy to work with, listen to and watch. Their honesty and sublime sound led by slick and effortless frontman Kojo is something to behold and cheer on as their careers continue to develop, much to their constant astonishment! Their first release in January 2019 ‘Sequoia’ was featured by Ronnie Herel of Mi-Soul radio as a #OneToWatch, which encouraged the ‘Yellas’ to release their second original track ‘Lovin’ in March, both tracks receiving regular radio airplay across the UK and Europe.

With more original music to come from their recording sessions at Kent’s Rimshot Production Studio, expect to see Mad Yella in a number of places as they hit the UK scene with appearances at London’s Hideaway, the Margate Soul Festival and Rye Jazz Festival to name a few.

Mad Yella are the definitive story of originality and hard work reaping results ... It’s a wonderful thing to see these cats grow.
This is the New Jazz-Funk Generation - #YellaFever is a good thing!
Come join in the party!

Listen to Mad Yella

When some lads from got together to play some music in 2018, they had no idea what would become of them. They certainly never expected to have a hashtag to go with their furore #YellaFever

Mad Yella have a history among them through university and playing within other bands. These young and extremely talented musicians have a repertoire that far supersedes their years. Inspired by an endless love of Jazz-Funk, Neo Soul and Rare Groove and such as The Crusaders, George Benson and D’Angelo; Mad Yella have defined a sound of their own as well as adding a few ‘Mad Yella’ style covers to their armoury.
