The Fabulous Red Diesel are a highly original four piece jazz orientated band of unconventional players that know exactly how to entertain a crowd and get the party started.
We are delighted to welcome this amazing band back to perform at the festival again this year…we just love these guys and their pedigree is impressive, Phil Brown recorded and produced their 3rd album -We know its 43. Frontwoman and songwriter, Kat Lee-Ryan is a recent signing to Beatport Records, and has graced many major stages including Glastonbury, the Royal National Theatre Foyer, Wembley Conference centre, The Jazz cafe, The Jazz Cafe Berlin, the Mean Fiddler, The Green gathering and The 100 Club.
They are currently recording their 6th album, Sparkly Bird, which is the soundtrack to a ground breaking new theatre show of the same name and the Fabulous Red Diesel are the band you would book to impress someone who has heard it all before.

Their pedigree is impressive, Phil Brown www.phillbrown.net recorded and produced their 3rd album -We know its 43. They have just released their 6th cd- ‘Sparkly Bird-The Soundtrack’ a highly emotional concept album .
The FRD is Kat Lee-Ryan on vocals, keyboards,and flute, Wil Lee-Ryan AKA Duke Boom, on Drums, Simon Dobell AKA Rabbi Jaffa Delicious on trumpet and Guitar, and Beatrice Gullick on double bass, tuba and trumpet. This is a band which defies description,a gumbo of styles and influences, a veritable feast of instruments and complex arrangements.But they are also warm,and accessible ,amazing musicians, yet down to earth people.
As a young soloist in London, Kat supported Jeff Buckley, worked with Andy Coughlan from The Tubeway Army, and Tony Kylie from the Blow Monkeys. As front woman of ‘Naked Angel’ she and her drummer/husband Wil played at Wembley Conference Centre, Glastonbury, The Jazz Café in Camden and Berlin, and The Mean Fiddler, as well as performing alongside artists like Anastasia, Angie Brown and Howard Jones at the Orange in Kensington.
Our lovely friends at Simply Italian Rye, have been major supporters of the festival since the festival started back in 2012. Every year we have presented live music ‘Alfresco Style’ at this busy and incredibly popular Italian restaurant in Rye. This year is no exception and we are delighted to announce Sunday afternoon 3pm outside the restaurant.
