Closing out the Kino Outdoor Stage on Bank Holiday Monday are the Derek Nash Funk Experience!
Led by acclaimed saxophonist Derek Nash (Jools Holland R&B Orchestra) and with a band chock full of funk all-stars (who’ve played with, among others, Ray Charles, George Michael and Massive Attack), The Funk Experience bring you the sounds of Grover Washington Jnr, David Sanborn, Herbie Hancock, Bill Withers and more as they dig deep into the beat and groove laden world that has inspired their journey as musicians.
See the festival out with the full funk experience!
This year the festival is pleased to continue alfresco jazz at the wonderful Kino cinema Terrace in the heart of Rye.
Situated in the middle of town, next to the Butter Market and St Mary’s Church, this beautiful building has been recently refurbished and transformed into one of the best boutique cinemas East Sussex has to offer, and is equipped with state-of-the-art digital high definition projection and sound equipment to ensure the highest quality viewing experience.
Kino Rye’s intimate and stylish café-bar and sunny outside courtyard is popular with film-goers and also with customers who just want to enjoy the excellent coffee, cake and other delicious offerings, many of which are supplied by local producers.
With a fantastic food menu and fully licenced bar, come relax on the Kino Terrace and enjoy some wonderful sounds.
