Young singer/songwriter, actor and multi-instrumentalist Danny Boland has played to critical acclaim in Europe from a young age. Born in Luxembourg (and with family links to Rye), Danny studied at music at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Now London based, Danny is rapidly gaining a name for himself as a performer able to play across multiple genre’s and decades.
Bitten by the blues bug at an early age (Danny says it was a chance listening to John Lee Hooker’s Boom Boom in the Blues Brothers movie that “hooked” him), he plays his own songs along with arrangements of numbers by artists as diverse as Leadbelly to John Mayer and almost everything in between.

Described as having an “Old Soul” because of his love of music from the 20’s to the 60’s, Danny backs up powerful vocals with distinct guitar sounds, specialising in acoustic blues such as picking in the style of Big Bill Broonzy and using a steel National slide to evoke the sounds of the south, with mandolin and blues harp adding extra depth and colour.
