The vibe at the Brewery Yard Club is unique. Music and entertainment are at the core and there is no better place in town to relax with your friends. The Brewery Yard Club is the best place to get your groove on safely and in style and we are delighted to be presenting two cabaret style jazz nights during the 2021 festival.

Saturday 28 August: Earl Okin - Booking here

The hugely talented and versatile Earl Okin comes out of isolation and returns to his first love when he plays at the 2021 Rye Jazz Festival. Earl Okin is one of the world’s finest songwriters and musicians. He plays a variety of genres from Pop and Rock to Jazz, from Bossa Nova to Ballads. Hugely melodic and always based on musically satisfying chord sequences. His more recent songs are often in the genre of such classic songwriters such as Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobim, George Gershwin etc. These are all among Earl’s heroes, though his first influence was the music of Puccini and Verdi, still major loves in Earl’s life.


Sunday 29 August: The Drawtones Album Launch - Booking here

The Drawtones return to Rye with not only a feast of iconic jazz and blues, soul and funk grooves, but also with legendary guitarist, Jim Mullen, who guests on their new album ‘Groovin’ Magic’, being launched live tonight!

You may know Jim from Claire Martin’s award-winning album ‘Bumpin’ – a tribute to Wes Montgomery; from ‘Average White Band’; from ‘Morrissey-Mullen’, or simply as “One of the world’s finest jazz musicians” (Martin Taylor MBE).

Emulating the great Hammond organ combos with material from such artists as Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, George Benson, Booker-T, Junior Walker, Grover Washington, The Crusaders, George Duke, Steely Dan, Ronnie Scott’s Club favourites, ‘The Drawtones’, claim ownership by way of their masterful musicianship and proven jazz pedigree.
