May Concert Series at historic Hever Castle

We proudly present a series of exceptional and intimate world class concerts set in the beautiful and historic location of Hever Castle, Kent. Dating back to the 13th century, Hever Castle was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII and Mother of Elizabeth I. These special performances take place at the open air theatre set in the gardens of Hever Castle; where you can enjoy the beautiful gardens by bringing a picnic, choosing to eat in the Guthrie Pavilion Restaurant or by simply wandering through the magnificent grounds.

Start planning your end of May bank holiday weekend, why not treat someone special or get a group of friends together and visit one of the most famous castles in the world and enjoy the wonderful live music performances.

The stage is fully covered and the seating is tiered with the vast majority of seats under canopies. These concerts are presented with the highest quality sound and lighting to make for a truly unforgettable music experience.

We look forward to welcoming you to what will be a wonderful series of incredible concerts.

Saturday 25 May - Courtney Pine Presents ‘Black Notes From The Deep’

For his latest project “Black Notes From The Deep” Courtney returns to the tenor saxophone for the first time in a decade and features the vocal talents of UK soul star Omar, whose 1992 hit single “There’s Nothing Like This” established a truly unique and instantly recognisable “signature” sound that has since earned him widespread critical acclaim and seen him collaborate with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Carleen Anderson and Angie Stone.

Multi-instrumentalist Courtney Pine CBE is a British-born Jazz giant. In the 80’s he was one of the first black British jazz artists to make a serious mark on the jazz scene.

Sunday 26 May - Miloš Karadaglić ‘The Hottest Guitarist In The World’

Firmly positioned as a leading exponent of his instrument, “The hottest guitarist in the world” (Sunday Times), Miloš Karadaglić, continues to top record charts and delight audiences worldwide.

Monday 27 May - Mica Paris Sings Ella Fitzgerald

Mica Paris will be performing this unique celebration to Ella Fitzgerald with her immensely talented jazz musicians and you can expect to hear many of Ella’s wonderful songs such as “Imagine My Frustration” and “Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye, Summer Time and classics from the American songbook”. Mica Sings Ella is not a tribute show. “I’ve seen good tribute bands, but this is more me reinterpreting Ella my way. Paying homage to her.” Mica compares Fitzgerald’s life to that of Billie Holiday, a Fitzgerald contemporary. “Billie was around at the same time, but Billie Holiday got more press because of the drug use and also because she was better looking.

Mica has made a huge impact on the music scene since her debut, platinum-selling album ‘So Good’ in 1988, with the range, power and soulfulness of her singing. More worldwide hit albums and singles followed her debut album including ‘Black Angel’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Carefree’, and she has collaborated with many respected artists such as Prince and Jools Holland.
