Rye Jazz Festival and Christmas festivities in Rye

Rye is renowned for many events throughout the year and is a unique and very special town, steeped in history, character and charm. There are many wonderful festivals and events that take place in Rye each year which attract thousands of visitors from across UK, Europe and the World. Christmas is a very special time in Rye, and we are delighted to be presenting our live music concerts at St Mary’s Church this coming December.

Rye jazz festival proudly welcomes back Mica Paris one of the UK’s finest and most respected female singers with a career full of top 10 singles and albums worldwide.

Mica will perform her highly acclaimed brand new show ‘Mica Paris Sings Ella Fitzgerald’ on Friday 15th December.

Mica will be performing with her immensely talented jazz musicians and you can expect to hear many of Ella’s wonderful songs that made her one of the most revered singers of the 20th century.

On Saturday 16th December, we proudly present the legendary and iconic song writing partnership of Chris Difford & Glenn Tilbrook of the band ‘Squeeze’.

Chris and Glenn will be joining us at St Mary’s Church after a hugely successful sold out Squeeze UK “Join The Dots” tour. Chris and Glenn also join the band on US tour dates in December before making their way to beautiful Rye.

We also welcome the wonderful trio Arcelia as support for the evening. A rich mix of exceptional songwriting, outstanding vocals and exquisite harmonies.

The Rye Christmas Festival - Saturday 9th December
On Saturday 9th December Rye comes alive with a one day only event taking place throughout the town of Rye and sees the town transform into a place of festive joy with a wonderful festive atmosphere.
The 2017 festival is set to see the return of Father Christmas and his reindeer, the carousel, Mother Christmas, high street races, the procession, storytelling, craft workshops, the carol concert at St Mary’s Church and some new exciting additions coming soon!

Rye Arts Festival - September 2018
The hugely respected Rye Arts Festival which celebrated its 47th year in 2017, takes place each year in September.
The 2018 festival takes place from 15th September - 30th September and promises a diverse and exciting programme of events.

Other wonderful events that take place in Rye throughout the year include; The Wild Boar Week festival, Rye Bay Scallop Week, Festival of The Sea, and the annual Rye Bonfire Night every November.
