Live Music Returns to Rye - August Bank Holiday Weekend

We are delighted to announce that we will be celebrating the long-awaited return of live music this August, presenting free live music events in Rye at various locations over the bank holiday weekend. Join us in Rye to experience the joy and wellbeing that live music brings.

After much hard work ‘Team Rye Jazz’ have secured funding and all the necessary permissions to present fabulous performances outside the Butter Market, outside the Kino Cinema and various other venues from 28 – 30 August. We will be announcing who is playing where and when over the coming days.

Expect to hear the best Blues, Roots, Jazz, Soul and contemporary music from established and emerging musical talent. We are proud to be supporting musicians once again after what has been the most challenging of times. We are also delighted to be working with charity partners ‘The Music Well’ who do amazing work through the power of music.

The festival would like to acknowledge the support and generosity of its private patrons, the Rye Town Council for the use of the Butter Market, Kino Cinema and Rother District Council for licensing and funding. We also thank the Community Lottery Fund for their invaluable support and the many local sponsors that have enabled the return of live music this year.

Our generous sponsors:

The Rye Retreat, Anderson Hacking Estate Agents, Wilson Wilson & Hancock Opticians, Mayfield Sussex Hop Gin, Reeds Rains Estate Agents, The Cinque Ports Rye, RER Project Management, WS Wright Ltd, Herington Solicitors, Mermaid Inn, Bramley & Teal Holiday Cottages, Parker Building Supplies, Phillips & Stubbs Estate Agents, Country Property Group and Green Insurance Group.

These events will be carefully managed with social distancing in place and a limited audience capacity. Our priority is the comfort and safety of our audiences, musicians, and our superb team of volunteers. We ask all those attending to be mindful and respectful of others when enjoying these events. There will be a road closure in place to ensure safety for everyone.

In addition to the street performances there will be live music at the Cinque Ports Pub in Rye, Brewery Yard Club, Ship Inn and at the Kings Head Inn.

Please continue to support the festival and the return of live music. Full event listings and performance details coming soon. Keep updated via our social media channels and on the website.
