2020 Festival Update

It will come as no surprise and we deeply regret that it will not be possible to present what would have been the ninth Rye International Jazz and Blues Festival this August bank holiday weekend.

We hope that our customers, sponsors, artists and professional partners are all keeping safe and well at this challenging time for us all.

This decision is naturally due to the devastating impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on our society and the challenges that we are all facing. The health and wellbeing of our customers, artists, sponsors, suppliers, venues and our festival team is of paramount importance to us.

We have been carefully monitoring government announcements in the hope that the situation might improve sufficiently enough to allow the possibility of proceeding with some of our events; however, the uncertainty surrounding social distancing has meant that our headline concerts and other events are simply not possible.

We remain positive and look to the future; we are working hard behind the scenes to develop our plans for next year. We are delighted to confirm that three of the scheduled headline concerts planned for this August have been rescheduled to take place at the end of August 2021 and will be part of our exciting 10th Anniversary celebration festival.

The 10th Anniversary 2021 Festival will take place from Thursday 26th to Monday 30th August and will include exceptional headline concerts, many outdoor music performances, workshops, a festival Jazz Club and many fringe music events.

All customers that have purchased tickets for this year’s August festival can automatically transfer their tickets for the rescheduled 2021 headline concerts.

We were unfortunately not able to proceed with our scheduled concerts in early May bank holiday at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill and likewise our concerts at St Mary’s church in Rye over the late May bank holiday weekend.

We are close to finalising these rescheduled concerts; the following concerts will take place in in May 2021 - Booker T Jones, Jose Feliciano, 6 Hands, PP Arnold, The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, Graham Gouldman and we will also present additional artists in our Spring 2021 series.

We will be announcing these rescheduled events in the near future, tickets will remain valid for the new dates to all of our customers that have kindly previously purchased tickets.

We are also delighted to confirm that the festival will be presenting the highly acclaimed singer songwriter Rumer in concert on a new rescheduled date of Friday 12th March 2021 at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill. Tickets that our customers kindly purchased previously remain valid for next year. If you would like to purchase tickets you can do so here or directly with the De La Warr Pavilion.
