Fantastic free music takes place at our dedicated outdoor music stage located at the Kino Cinema Terrace and at the Butter Market within the heart of Rye throughout the Bank holiday weekend. These events create a wonderful, vibrant and fun atmosphere complimenting the headline concerts at St Mary's Church perfectly. Expect the very best in Jazz, Blues, Swing, RnB, Soul, Funk, Folk, Roots, Latin and contemporary music and performances on the outdoor stage kicks off on Friday 24th August from 6.30pm with with foot stomping rhythms of New Orleans at our 2018 festival launch party 'Funky Friday'! Join us at the festival in Rye for four days of fabulous free music taking place within the heart of the town.
As part of the festival’s free music programme this year we are delighted to be presenting ‘Funky Friday’ from 6pm on Friday nights followed by three days of outstanding and dynamic live music performances at the festivals dedicated outdoor performance stage located on the terrace of the Kino Cinema Rye on Lion Street and outside the Georgian Butter Market below the Rye Town Hall.
Live music will take place from 1.00pm – 7.00pm each day on Saturday 25th to Monday 27th August with an array of superb regional bands and musicians performing the very best in Jazz, Swing, Blues, Rock, Roots, RnB, Soul, Latin, Funk, Folk and contemporary music styles.

The atmosphere is amazing and the streets of Rye come alive with sounds and colours similar to that of New Orleans with a distinctive vibrancy and charm that is very much unique to both the festival and to Rye itself.
Get a group of friends together and bring the family to soak up the wonderful atmosphere at the free music events!
There will be licensed bars on site to providing a wide selection beers, bitters, lagers, wines, Pimms and soft drinks and tasty street food will
also be available on each of the days.
The festival is proud to provide the platform for both established and emerging talent to perform to a wider audience and we are very excited to welcome Kung Fu Slipper, Pixie & the Gypsies, Jazz Wurx and June winners of our ‘Call for Bands’ competition.
